If I was death,
would you fear me?
If I was love,
would you embrace me?
If I was life,
would you celebrate me?
If I was a dove,
would you care for me?

If I was a man,
would you want me?
If I was a woman,
would you need me?
If I was a child,
would you protect me?

If I was in any other skin,
would you notice?
But I am just me,
and there is nothing else I can be.
