I am a tree,
I am firmly grounded,
I witness corruption,
But I can only stand still.
I am a tree,
I bend for nothing,
but you can break me,
and make me something.
I am a tree,
I know the wind,
I've seen life's pain,
I know it's sting.
I am a tree,
I breathe like any,
I know the suffering,
Just like many.
I am a tree,
I've seen too many,
Use my body,
as a means to an end.
I am a tree,
I wish for nothing,
One day I am here,
and the next I will be gone.
“I said to Life, I would hear Death speak. And Life raised her voice a little higher and said, You hear him now.”
— Khalil Gibran
